Jim has been in the home entertainment business for over 40 years. Electronic Diagnostic Center has been open for 25 years right here in Historical Downtown Oakland located in the Bottling Plant.
Jim was awarded the 2014 Asa McCain Spirit of Oakland Award. He feels very lucky to have worked with Mayor Asa McCain in his last four years of his 22-year stint as Mayor of Oakland.
Jim was also awarded 2014 Honorary Golden Ambassador for the 47th annual Autumn Glory Festival.
Jim is very involved in the Town of Oakland, and the G.O.B.A. organization. He has held the following positions in the G.O.B.A organization President of the GOBA as well as being a board member. He chaired Oakland’s Winterfest for five years and has been the chair and treasure of Oakland Pocket Park movies for the last eight years. Jim matched a grant to buy new equipment for Pocket Park Movies with the help of Tess Tharp and her whole family. Oakland Pocket Park Movies is an event that hopefully will last for many years to come.
