Being a small local business, we believe in delivering the best products to our clients. We strive to be professional, energetic, and well informed on all products offered. For over 25 years, we have offered only products we use in our homes, knowing we can stand behind these products with integrity and pride.
If you come to our store, you will see we are not your normal retail business. When you come to us, we listen to what you want and order product just for your job. We will not try to sell you what is in stock (we keep very little stock). We are very proud of the long-term relationships that we have developed with all our clients.
In home repair is very limited by today’s products. This means most repairs must be done in our store. In store service consists of repairing most home entertainment products, including all brands of televisions, DVD players, sound systems, video monitors, etc. Call us today to see if your product is worth repairing or if there is a more cost effective solution.
• TV – 40” or larger- We require a $105.00 non-refundable labor deposit and set a $200 limit on the repair.
• Smaller than 40” require a $75 labor deposit and a $150.00 limit is set on repair.
This means if you bring in a 60” TV for repair you would pay a $105 deposit on labor. Jim would then work on your TV, and if he can fix it for under $200, he will order parts and finish the repair. When you pick your TV the $105 you prepaid will be deducted from the total repair bill. For example, if the total repair is $175 the balance when you pick up your TV would be $70. All other units require a $50 deposit and have a $95 limit.
We are local and do not work like a big 800 number. Electronic Diagnostic Center is your local preferred authorized retailer and installer of both DIRECTV and Viasat high-speed internet. Jim, the owner of Electronic Diagnostic Center, is the only preferred retailer that is AT&T - DIRECTV authorized to do residential, commercial, and multi-dwelling units in Maryland and has been offering DIRECTV service for over 22 years. In 2012 Electronic Diagnostic Center became the only authorized Viasat retailer and installer on the mountaintop.
Michelle, the office manager, will build your account online and Jim will come to your home and do the installation personally.
This means that Jim and Michelle are in control of how your system is set up from beginning to end. Therefore, you are informed of your options and we guide you through the whole process. You end up with a product that meets your needs, not what the “big boys want to sell that week”. As a result, if you do have a problem, we are right here in Oakland to take care of you. The old saying “one call does it all” has real meaning with us. Call, email, or text us.
Purchasing home entertainment products can be overwhelming especially when it comes to knowing all the features and functions of the leading brands on the market.
Electronic Diagnostic Center can do research to find the right equipment to fulfill your needs and custom order it. Jim and Michelle can offer cost effective solutions and excellent customer service. Let Jim and Michelle take the hassle and worry out of setting up all of your in-home entertainment needs. With over 40 years of combined experience, Jim and Michelle can help avoid the pitfalls that can come back to haunt you later.
Building a new home or remodeling? Call us before the drywall is up. The best time to call is as soon as the studding is in place.
We can do a walk through to see the wiring you will need to make your home ready for mounting TVs on the walls, television receivers that are hidden, and sound systems to run whole house sound. We can make your entertainment dreams come true.
Electronic Diagnostic Center can wire your home for satellite, cable television, satellite internet, sound, phone, data systems, and media hub boxes. Call us, and we will make an appointment for your walk though for a nominal fee.
Jim will build an estimate from just putting in wiring in place so you can do the rest later or a “Turn Key System” so when you move in you’re ready to go. Remember, once your home is finished, it is much harder and more expensive to add all the systems down the road.
It is highly recommended that you have an experienced electronic technician, not an electrician go over plans to make sure you have what you want instead of hearing, “wish I could have come in while you were in the construction stage.”
